Built in 1850 the l'Univers has seen stage-coaches, adventurers, wars, pirates, sea-farers and multiple events.
In the beginning of the 19th century the building served foremost as a way station, Later it was transformed into hotel with 110 rooms and facilities on the landing.
The hotel was renovated in the beginning of the nineteen-nineties to a better standing and more comfort with a 64 room capacity.
The establishment was bought in 2009 by the BAZIN family, its actual owner.
